U.S. Airmen cover temporary shelters during a bare base construction capstone event

Temporary Shelter Evaluation at Fort Leonard Wood

Overview

The U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC) invites temporary pop-up shelter solutions for evaluation and potential use in military operations. This effort is designed to identify, evaluate, and showcase promising innovations while fostering collaboration between government, industry, and the research community to address critical operational needs.

Background

ERDC offers a unique opportunity to host and evaluate temporary pop-up shelters and other solutions in a military-relevant environment at Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri. The Contingency Basing Integration Training & Evaluation Center (CBITEC), operated in partnership with ERDC’s Construction Engineering Research Laboratory (CERL), provides a real-world setting for testing and evaluating contingency base capabilities and technologies, including power, water, waste, and construction.

The U.S. Army Engineer School hosts Engineer Regimental Week each spring at Fort Leonard Wood, bringing together service members, leaders, academics, and industry partners from across the U.S. Army Engineer Regiment. Depending on the timing of the evaluation, participating solutions at CBITEC may have an opportunity for visibility during the event.
