Prototype Opportunities
Our government partner, the U.S. Army Engineer Research and Development Center (ERDC), seeks to utilize prototype opportunities to create a flexible mechanism for public-private collaboration. These prototype opportunities are used to stimulate or support research and are designed to:
OT Resources
The solution meets the definition of a 'prototype project'
The solution proposed is directly relevant to enhancing the mission effectiveness for military personnel
Meet one of three non-traditional defense contractor or non-profit research institution requirements
No cost to join the ecosystem or to submit a white paper
The ERDC is an integral component of the Office of the Assistant Secretary of Defense for Research and Engineering and helps solve the Nation’s most challenging problems in civil and military engineering, geospatial sciences, water resources, and environmental sciences for the Army, Department of Defense (DoD), civilian agencies, and our Nation’s public good. Under 10 U.S.C. 2371b for OT for Prototypes, the DoD provided agencies the authority to award OT for Prototypes to support ERDC's five major areas: military engineering, environmental quality and installations, water resources, geospatial research and engineering, and engineered resilient systems.
